If you like to travel with your dogs, this is the place for you! Dog friendly is an understatement. Dog centered is more like it. We visited over Halloween weekend with four adults and five dogs. Everyone, especially the dogs, had the best time. The cabin is peaceful and quiet. The fenced yard is great for dogs. Everything is comfortable and well appointed. We really enjoyed the kitchen and grill and hanging out around the fire table. The cabin is also close to some great hiking. Don’t worry about packing for your dogs! Cara provides everything you could possibly need. Crates, toys, treats, blankets, bowls. It was just fantastic. We can’t wait to go again!

We stayed at Gracie’s Place a few weeks ago. The house is clean and spacious, and so accommodating of dogs! Our dog loved the basket of dog toys that he could play with. The location is great, so close to good hiking and good food. We will definitely go back!

We love it here! Cara has thought of every possible thing someone could need out here! You are less than 15 mins from both Luray and Front Royal which have super cute shops and lots of non-chain restaurant options! We also loved that the Shenandoah River State Park is just a few minutes away. The dog amenities are also top notch – the outdoor space and muddy paws guilt-free basement area are perfect for our big dogs! All of the space to roam and explore are awesome for our toddler. He also LOVES the slide built in to the side of the deck! This is our second time coming in October and we plan to book for a third time.

We spent two nights at Chateau Frankie during what turned out to be the most gorgeous weekend! We brought our two dogs, one of which is a well-seasoned traveler, and the other of which we recently foster-failed a few months ago and has never been on a trip with us. We were nervous about traveling with her (she gets anxious with “new” things, and we are still working on leash skills and recall). Chateau Frankie made the entire experience not only doable, but pleasantly enjoyable for all involved! The entire cabin accommodated the needs of our pups, and then some. In addition, there’s plenty for the humans to do, and the location is spectacular. I cannot recommend Chateau Frankie enough!

Inaugural renter review!

I had the pleasure of staying at Chateau Frankie with dear friends (human and furry) for a girls weekend.  What a beautiful, peaceful setting!  You know as soon as you start up the driveway that you are in for a special, private retreat. We felt right at home the minute we walked in the door.

The log cabin has comfortable furniture and tasteful decor, perfect for people and dogs alike. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. Every evening we enjoyed dinner and wine on the covered porch overlooking the yard and woods. We all agreed that the mattresses and bedding are super comfortable. That in combination with the quiet surroundings gave me the best night’s sleep I have had in months.

The lower level was perfect for our puzzle, games, and movie nights.  The indoor “dog house” adds such an adorable touch to this home. The fenced backyard was huge and our pup enjoyed running and playing off leash. We enjoyed the surrounding area for hiking, dining out, and even visited a winery.

The information Cara left for all the dog friendly activities in the area was so helpful. I highly recommend this unique dog friendly home. We are already planning our trip back to the Shenandoah Valley and Chateau Frankie!
